Gary and Veronica Shields, members of Lake Ainslie Presbyterian Church have provided the following:
Gary’s mother made a large nativity scene out of ceramic. We had donated it to the church.
It had been used on a table near the Christmas tree each year, but this year it was not used.
The box containing the nativity scene was stored in the attic. When they were searching the rubble of the church fire, this little lamb from the nativity set was found. He is totally intact, now black, he was white.
All the other pieces of the nativity were broken and lost in the fire. This one little lamb survived, after falling from the attic into the basement and surviving the heat of the fire.
We plan to mount him on a wood piece and place him in a glass box, to be displayed in the new church bldg.
